Post Twenty One or Prom Night

So Prom Night 2007 came. My first child's first prom! So Scary! But doesn't he look handsome? So, now it's every parent's nightmare- waiting, hoping your child makes good decisions. Hoping everything you've tried to teach them has stuck. Don't drink, no sex, no drugs. If your friends do, call home for help. Scary, scary! Yet, it's a rite of passage that I wouldn't want him to miss out on. The stubborn boy refused to take a date since he isn't licensed and was too ashamed to have "mommy" drive. However, as I drove off I saw him with a GROUP of young ladies and I don't think he'll have a bad time at all.
tick tock-- is the night over yet?

Post 20 or Blech!

I'm home sick today. Terrible upset stomach and headache. Can't really relax and sleep. Amazingly, it's only 30 days from moving day and NOT ONE thing is done! I'm so stressed out.

Post Nineteen or Spring

Well, Spring has reluctantly arrived here in ROC and we are celebrating our annual lilac festival. Here is a picture of the lovely, fragrant flower. Unfortunately, our spring has been very slow and cool so our Lilac trees are not in full bloom yet.

In other news, Sgt Dad's brother, Officer D, has had another little girl! Little Pea was not so little however, she is 21" long and 9lbs 5oz! Her poor mother looked totally wiped out! She's a beauty though and a welcome addition to a family full of boys!

HAPPY SPRING

Post Eighteen or Alone Again

Well, Sgt Dad has gone back to Korea. This time he'll be gone for three weeks. Then I get him back- for good I hope! Things here are quickly falling back into the old routine. I can't wait for a new one. I'm so tired of doing it all on my own.
On to good news. Youngest son had his final orchestra concert before he begins his high school journey. The orchestra sounded great as did the band. The chorus however was not for me. I've never been a fan of chorus. To be honest, the drums of the band are my favorite. In fact I really wanted my kids to be in band but none of them stuck with it. At least Sgt Dad enjoys drum playing- I'm not so sure my neighbors appreciate it though. ;-)
We are planning a big family BBQ here in June. I guess it will the our last hurrah here. We should begin our journey to Alaska the last week of June. I can't wait to start the trip! I plan on blogging the trip and sharing photos. I sure hope we enjoy our new home!
